TOP TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN THE
PROVINCE OF BUKIDNON
Bukidnon is
a landlocked province of the Philippines located in the Northern Mindanao region. Its capital is Malaybalay City. The name "Bukidnon" means "highlander"
or "mountain dweller". It is considered to be the food basket of Mindanao. It is the major producer of rice,
corn, pineapple, bananas and sugarcane in
the region. It is the home of Mount
Dulang-dulang, the 2nd highest mountain in the Philippines with an elevation of 2,938 m located
in Kitanglad Mountain Range.
Now,
if you are planning to visit the province, you should not miss these tourist
attractions in your itinerary or simply in your bucket list…
1. KAAMULAN FESTIVAL
Kaamulan Festival is an ethnic cultural festival held annually in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon in the Philippines from the second half of February to
March 10, and the anniversary date of the foundation of Bukidnon as a province
in 1917. It is held to celebrate the culture and tradition of the seven ethnic
tribal groups—Bukidnon, Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon
and Umayamnon—that originally inhabit the province. It is the only ethnic festival in the
Philippines. Kaamulan comes from the Binukid word “amul” meaning to gather. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaamulan)
(I do not own these photos!)
Actually, I haven't experience
this festival yet I am hoping that maybe next year I will! It’s really hard
especially that you should be the one to adjust your schedule in order to
experience this; you cannot just go there anytime and experience this! :P
