Sagpulon Falls - Jasaan, Misamis Oriental

My last visit in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental was about two year ago, when we had an outing with friends at Basamangas Resort and aside from that place, I never thought that there are some other tourist spots in the place of Jasaan, which i think one of the best in the Region -two of these are Agutayan Reef and White Island and as well as the Sagpulon Falls.

Around 8:30 am of January 31, 2014 me and my friend Bethel went to Jasaan from the city proper of Cagayan De Oro. Unexpectedly, the fare in the jeepney from Cagayan De Oro to Jasaan was just 25 pesos and it was about 30 minutes ride with it since its a public vehicle anyway and it's 28 kilometers east of the city.  We reached Jasaan at around 9:00am and we thought we can visit Agutayan Reef and White Island by that instant however we are not oriented that you can only visit Agutayan very early in the morning. So instead of going in Agutayan, we directly went to Sagpulon Falls. We rode a a motor single called "habal -habal" all the way to the falls, which cost us 120 pesos. Since the place was so remote we told the motor single driver to pick us up after 2 and half hours.

As expected by a falls, we need to walk going out there of about half a kilometer since the motor can no longer pass the way to the falls.

As you can see in the photos, before going to the falls itself, you need to be more adventurous while crossing a river (the water is from the falls) and hopped all those rocks, since the bridge was already out of service during our visit.

Finally, yes, we reached the falls, and we where  surprised and shocked that the place was not anymore managed and it was purely abandoned. The place is so cool and the falls is amazingly high and the current of the water in the falls is "strong" and for me the place maybe considered as the top tourist destination of Jasaan yet the tourism officers in the municipality did not see what i see about the place.

When we were there, the pool in front of the falls as you can see in some photos in Google was already vanished and the cottages as well. The place seems so virgin, untouched by humanity when i was there!
Lastly, i wish that the officials will take care of the falls again and beautify it because i believe its one of the top asset in the Municipality of Jasaan and I will be glad to go back there someday. :)

After Sagpulon Falls, we went back to the national highway and there we planned to take our lunch at Spring view resort , so we went there and unluckily the place was so full of students, children and its a lil bit crowded because again it was a holiday. We paid 40 pesos each in the entrance of the resort for 10-minutes and decided to go to the nearest resort - twin hearts spring resort and there new adventure happened... check my next blog for that!!
